## What Ringotan does

Ringotan teaches you to write Japanese by hand: you draw each character and the app checks your input, then quizzes you with spaced repetition on the ones you need.

It covers hiragana, katakana and 3500 kanji, including all Jouyou and Jinmeiyou kanji, and teaches each character from the start without assuming prior knowledge.
