What Buckets does
Buckets is a desktop app for envelope budgeting, or your own style: you put money into buckets for each purpose and track spending against them.
Your finances stay in a budget file on your computer. Transactions come in by importing files, recording private macros, or signing up for the separate SimpleFIN Bridge service to sync with your bank.
The app is available in more than 20 languages and includes videos that explain the budgeting method.
Who Buckets suits
- Couples and families who keep one shared budget across their computers
- People who want envelope budgeting without a monthly fee or a cloud account
One limit. The maker's guide says the Buckets mobile app is read-only for now; budgeting happens in the desktop app.
What Buckets costs
Buckets has an untimed free trial; after that it is a one-time license that covers every computer in your household, with no monthly fee.
